Cultural Minds Consulting was founded in 2011 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, by Milena  Feldkamp do Carmo with the goal to put scientific cultural psychological insights into practice. 

Our mission is to offer pragmatic, hands-on solutions for businesses, organizations and individuals that want to understand diversity and optimie dealing with it.

Cultural Minds understands the affordances and constrains of your business, as well as those of science. To deliver high-quality results, we listen carefully to your needs, ask the right questions and propose creative solutions that are feasible and combine best practices from science and business.

Depending on the scope and content of the assignment, Milena  works alone or in collaboration with partners. Cultural Minds operates globally from Porto, Portugal and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Diversity consultant

Culture and intercultural contact run like a red thread through Milena’s professional and personal life. As assistant professor Cultural Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, she co-founded and coordinated the international master’s program Cultural Psychology, offered academic  courses and skill trainings on cultural diversity in psychological functioning and conducted cross-cultural research on cultural diversity in  communication. Since 2011, Milena puts her theoretical knowedge into practice as a cultural psychological consultant, trainer and coach. She has worked with global players like adidas, BMW, Bayer and has strong affinity for the NGO and educational sector. Milena originates from Germany, has lived and worked in The Netherlands, India and the United States and travelled extensively around the globe. Her current home-base is Portugal, where she lives with her Portuguese husband and two sons.

Cross-Cultural Researcher

Eftychia Stamkou is a social and cultural psychologist working as assistant professor and coordinator the of the international master Cultura Psychology at the Department of Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Eftychia grew up in Greece and moved to the Netherlands for her postgraduate studies at the department of Social Psychology of the University of Amsterdam. She completed her dissertation research (PhD) in 2018 and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University and Columbia Business School. Research is Eftychia’s bread and butter. Het passion evolves around investigating leadership, power, influence, culture, norm violations, and moral emotions and how they affect individuals, organizations, and societies. Eftychia form part of Cultural Mind’s cross-cultural research team.
